With many having already deployed mobile technology - smartphones, tablets, mobile applications and the like - small- and medium-sized businesses are now looking to expand their programs. That, according to a recent report from industry association CompTIA, will be made possible by higher IT spending. According to the organization's Small and Medium Business Technology Adoptions Trends report, 70 percent of SMBs figure to increase tech spending during the next 12 months. Thirty-three percent of medium-sized businesses said they will expand their use of mobile technology, while 43 percent of small companies similarly. The report also hinted that SMBs should also deploy mobile device management solutions, as they want to be sure to get the most out of every dollar they invest. "SMBs may not have an abundance of capital to invest, so they have to make every dollar count. But the majority is willing to spend money on new technologies," CompTIA director of technology analysis Seth Robinson said. The Business Journals recently released a similar report that found 71 percent of SMBs may be considered "mobile businesses," as companies that have employees who conduct 30 percent of their work outside the office. |
